Home Weatherization Improvement Project


Get a rebate from your electric cooperative! TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY. Cooperative will refund 50 percent (50%), up to a maximum of $750, of the cost of the repairs/improvements by the auditor's report. When applying for this rebate, you will need to first select the repair/improvement home weatherization improvement project and then you will need to add additional lines for each completed repair/improvement task. You will also need to add a line for the the home energy pre audit blower door test-in if you haven't already filed for this, and you may add a line for a home energy post audit blower door test-out if applicable.


Rebate Qualifications

This rebate applies for all repairs/improvements made to a property that were in the home audit report. A home audit with a blower door test-in is required. Cooperative will refund up to 50 percent (50%) of the cost of making these improvements up to a maximum of $750. HVAC and appliances are NOT ELIGIBLE for this rebate but may apply to other rebate programs. Cooperative will also refund 50 percent (50%) of the cost for the pre-audit blower door test-in up to a maximum of $175, and 50% of an optional post-audit blower door test-out up to a maximum of $100. 


To complete this online application, you will need to have the rebate payment address, installation address, home audit date, the date the repairs/improvements were made, and your cost to complete those repairs/improvements.  Be certain that you select home weatherization improvement project and then add additional lines for each repair/improvement made. You will also be asked to upload a copy of your dated and detailed receipt for the project. 


If you haven’t already filed for the pre-audit blower door test reimbursement, then you may also add a line for this item. 



Important Terms & Conditions


  • Member must be in good standing with the Cooperative.
  • Submit within 90 days of purchase.
  • Audits are available for new and existing homes. On new homes, it is recommended the audit take place after the home is sealed and before sheet rock and insulation have bee installed/

  • Member/auditor must fill in all information requested on the AECI Residential Energy Audit 5-page form located at the Take Control & Save area of AECI’s Member’s web site.

  • Member/auditor must submit the form to local cooperative.

  • Multiple occupancy (apartments, duplexes, dormitories) buildings are eligible for a weatherization rebate on a single structure basis (not a single unit basis). One cost-shared audit on a single unit can be paid to the cooperative to determine base-line energy use. The building owner is eligible for the weatherization rebate (up to $500).
  • Rebate program is limited to cooperative services that purchase 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours from the cooperative on an annual basis. Eligible services include lake homes, workshops, and barns, etc.
  • Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing.
  • Please keep a copy for your records.
  • A separate audit form must be completed for each installation site.

The cooperative will not rebate equipment that has been mislabeled, misrepresented, or previously owned. The cooperative reserves the right to inspect the equipment and its installation at the address indicated on the front of this application.  The cooperative is not responsible for any lost, late, stolen, ineligible, misdirected or postage due mail. All completed applications will become the property of the cooperative.  Rebate qualifications and amounts are subject to change at the cooperative’s discretion and the program may end at any time without notice.
